Disgrace by Bethany-Kris
Siena Calabrese is no longer the prized daughter of la famiglia. Her transgressions against her brothers and family have stained more than just her reputation. Her best chance at keeping breath in her lungs would be to sit down and shut up like she was taught to do. She definitely shouldn't be feeding information to her family's enemies. And yet, she is still willing to risk it all for a chance at forever with Johnathan Marcello. After everything, how could she not?

The disgraced one …

Johnathan Marcello’s life and secrets have now been put on display for everyone to see. There's no hiding the things he's tried to keep hidden, but maybe that's the best thing that could have happened. Now he's about to walk straight into a war between rival mafia families, and he's got choices to make. His love is on one side, he's on the other, and everybody is playing for keeps. He'll play the game just as dirty as anyone else to get what he wants, even to the detriment of himself. For her, how could he not?

The shamed one …

It's time that the forgotten king takes back his throne. It's already been too long since it was taken from him.

But when has anything in this life been easy?

REVIEW

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My review of Loyalty

Siena Calabrese is now ‘the disgraced one’. There’s no love lost between her and her family. Now that they know where her loyalties lie, she has no freedom. Life has become like a prison for her. But that’s okay, right? In the end, everything she’s done and everything she will do is for the future happiness she’ll find with John.

John has chosen stability, which includes letting his family in and making moves to end the war with the Calabrese. He’s learning to control his impulses and to start seeing things in a different light. He’s making amends and creating bridges. He’s accepting that his illness doesn’t define him and that he is so loved. In the end, everything he’s done and everything he will do is for the future happiness he’ll find with Siena.

As always, this author captured love so beautifully. John’s illness may seem to be what was running the show, but it was their hearts that took the shine. What these characters shared was almost tangible. This story was thick with their affection. It covered not only their love, but how much they were willing to fight and sacrifice to protect and share in that love. I’ve never known a love like this but the story of John and Siena definitely makes me think it’s possible.
